Operating from facilities in Weymouth, Nova Scotia, Lewis Mouldings is a leading supplier of Eastern White Pine wood mouldings to hardware retail chains and construction industry clientele throughout North America.
The Objective
The goal of this project was to assist Lewis Mouldings in modernizing their sales and production management systems for the purpose of improving day-to-day operations. Additionally, to reduce administrative work, provide real-time data, improve reporting, and automate certain processes including client invoicing and production notifications.
To further extend management and production innovations to the shop floor by way of computer kiosks, bar code labelling, and scanner technologies.
Our Approach
Through close client collaboration and communication, we created the necessary flow charts and database schema to effectively model the required application features and functionality. Various dashboards were then designed and developed based on user roles within the company to ensure an effective and efficient workflow.
Together with the client, we developed a management system that matched the company’s specific needs. A system that allows the client to track product from the initial order, through various production stages, to shipment, and invoicing.
This is one of the most advanced web-based applications Digital Fusion has developed and it was created using the Laravel PHP framework.
