The process is very straightforward and outlined step-by-step in the user
manual (although you won't need to refer to it after using LotGenie just
a few times).
Here is a general overview of the steps involved:
- Use the digital camera to take a picture of the inventory
item. This is point and click like any other camera.
- Place the camera in its cradle and press one button
to transfer the picture (or multiple pictures) into your computer. (Bonus:
the cradle is also a re-charger so there will never be any wondering
if the camera is ready or the batteries any good)
- Re-size and Optimize the pictures so they will display
quickly when someone visits your web site This may sound complicated
but it isn't. The image editing software is powerful but super easy
- we promise!
- Then you open your internet browser and Login to
your personal LotGenie forms. These forms are protected by a unique
user name and password so nobody else can monkey with your site. Choose
whether to Add, Modify, or Delete an item based on the inventory numbering
system you specify.
- When you add an item the form has all the text boxes
and checkboxes you need to tell visitors about the item. You type in
the relevant information, select from menus, checkboxes, and enter any
comments. You add the images you prepared by clicking a button and browsing
to where you saved them on your computer.
- Click the Submit Button and you are finished.
The unit is added to your virtual lot! Changing or Deleting an item
is even easier.
The Sample Forms section
provides a graphical overview with sample forms and a link to the inventory
demonstration page.
